Only residents living in approved rural areas can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.

What can I burn?

No person shall conduct or permit to be conducted open air burning in rural areas that are hazardous and/or have health concerns to adjacent persons or properties.

Do I need a permit?

YES - OPEN AIR BURNING – for the burning of approved materials, including without limiting the generality of the foregoing - wood, cardboard, brush. NO - RECREATIONAL BURNING – for the burning of approved materials in a burning device specifically designed to contain a fire for the purpose of a “campfire” and/or outdoor cooking of food.
