Only residents living in approved rural areas can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.
You may register online using this website, visit us in person at the Municipal Office at 3236 River Street, or call (519) 898-2173 during regular business hours.
No person shall conduct or permit to be conducted open air burning in rural areas that are hazardous and/or have health concerns to adjacent persons or properties.
YES - OPEN AIR BURNING – for the burning of approved materials, including without limiting the generality of the foregoing - wood, cardboard, brush. NO - RECREATIONAL BURNING – for the burning of approved materials in a burning device specifically designed to contain a fire for the purpose of a “campfire” and/or outdoor cooking of food.
